Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player claimed his maiden trophy for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid year, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in especial - caused him exiting of the top ten and finally splitting with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.

This represents his first trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after spring of 2023.

The win also signifies the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one different events.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his past six title deciders, including in that event previously this season.

Medvedev's defensive play style and recurring emotional displays on court had prompted observers to question if his skill to compete at the top level was over.

But the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved service.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, winning four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.

The competitors traded service breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his maiden professional victory, took control to create a decider.

Moutet saved 4 early chances in a tight final set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he clinched victory with a point at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
