Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Police state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.
The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then found multiple other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Officials report preliminary tests show the substance was likely blood from a person.
"Currently there is no lead as to its source; investigators are not yet informed of any injuries in relation with the incident," they stated.
City officials announced they were working "to solve the case" and have requested to the residents for details.
An important representative stated the attack rendered him without words and had to be resolved promptly.
"This act affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, referring to the murder of nine victims by a gunman aiming at residents of migrant background in five years prior.
